Accreditation

The undergraduate program within the Klipsch School of Electrical and Computer Engineering has been continuously accredited since 1938 by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET (and its predecessors), 111 Market Place, Suite 1050, Baltimore, MD 21202-4012 – telephone: (410) 347-7700.

ABET is a non-profit, non-governmental organization which accredits engineering programs across the country and around the world.

Earning an engineering degree from an ABET accredited program is important: many employers will only hire from ABET accredited programs, financial aid eligibility may hinge on accreditation, and graduate schools may not recognize degrees from non-ABET accredited programs.

Among the requirements of ABET accreditation is periodic, on-site, peer-review of our program, faculty, and facilities. These visits usually occur every six years.
